Touted as Sri Lanka’s next Lasith Malinga, Matheesha Pathirana impressed everyone with his bowling performance in his debut match for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2022.
Match number 62 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is being played between the Gujarat Titans and the Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
Batting first after winning the toss, MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings posted only 133 runs on the board, with opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad scoring 53 runs from 49 balls.
The match also saw the debut of the so called Baby Malinga, when Matheesha Pathirana impressed everyone with his performance, taking 2 wickets for 24 runs.
Pathirana is touted to be next Lasith Malinga for the Sri Lanka, which also due to the fact that the bowlers has quite a lot of resemblance Malinga’s bowling action. Check-out how Twitter reacted.
