Punjab Kings’ captain Mayank Agarwal struck a master stroke as his decision to hand Liam Livingstone the first over the match resulted in wicket of David Warner of the very first ball of the match.
Match number 64 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 today is being played between the two teams who are fighting for a spot in playoffs, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings.
It was Punjab skipper Mayank Agarwal who won the toss and opted to bowl first, keeping in mind the likely dew factor. This match is very crucial for both the teams as both are still in contention for a top 4 spot and a win here would be a boost.
The match began with David Warner and Sarfaraz Khan walking out to bat first. Mayank Agarwal, very surprisingly, gave the ball to Liam Livingstone, knowing the David Warner is one of the better players of spin.
However, it just turned out to be a master stroke as David Warner was dismissed of the first ball. Trying to get go from the start, he put the ball on Rahul Chahar’s hand.
Twitterati were also shocked with what they just witnessed and called it a master stroke.

David Warner opting to take strike after initially being at the non-striker's end, facing up to Liam Livingstone's all-sorts, and then getting out first ball of the match would be a great story…. if Warner wasn't in my fantasy team. #PBKSvDC
