The match number 15 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 was played between hosts Lahore Qalandars and Babar Azam led Peshawar Zalmi on 26th February, 2023.
Winning the toss, Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi opted to bat. Despite losing an early wicket, Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique played some extraordinary inning where the latter scored 75 runs while the former missed out on a century by 4 runs.
Sam Billings also displayed his quality as he scored quickfire 47 runs from 23 balls as Lahore setup 242 runs target for Peshawar Zalmi, who in the end lost the match by 40 runs after scoring 201 runs.
The opening duo failed for Peshawar, but the middle-order batters with contribution from the lower order batted till 201 runs. Meanwhile, Peshawar captain Babar Azam was dismissed for only 7 runs by Lahore captain Shaheen Afridi.
Shaheen Afridi displayed his true class as he picked up a 5 wicket haul, giving away 40 runs in 4 overs. However, the moment of the match would always be when Mohammad Haris’ bat couldn’t handle Shaheen’s pace and was teared-apart into 2 pieces. Checkout how Twitterati reacted to the same.
