“Expect some incredible bids on my name” – Mr. IPL Suresh Raina optimistic about return in IPL 2023

Many hearts were broken and the Indian Premier League (IPL)’s one of the most decorated cricketer known as Mr. IPL, Suresh Raina went unsold in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction held in February this year.

Former Indian cricketer and left-handed middle-order batsman Suresh Raina had long been the Indian Premier League (IPL)’s most run scorer in the history of the competition and has been a part of or reason of so many great victorious while playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Raina had to skip the IPL 2021 went it was postponed and shifted to UAE and then later was not even picked in the IPL 2022 Player Auction that was conducted in February early this year.

Raina, who though have already announced his retirement from International cricket the same day as the great, Indian captain MS Dhoni, he is yet to say goodbye to the IPL and is even available for selection for domestic for Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, in a recent chat with the Dainik Jagran, Suresh Raina talked about the possibility of his return to the IPL and how he is trying to ensure that.

Raina stated to Dainik Jagran that he is working hard and is spending a lot of time in the nets and that he is focusing on keeping his basics intact. “Yes, I have been working really hard and spending lot of time in the nets. I am focusing on keeping my basics intact and not too much thinking of IPL 2023 auction. But I would love to make a return in the league and will expect some incredible bids on my name,” he said.

As for Suresh Raina, popularly known as Mr. IPL, the left-hand batter has played 205 IPL matches in his career and has scored 5,528 runs that includes a century and 39 half-centuries. He last featured for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2021’s first half and remained unsold for IPL 2022.
