Pakistan’s legendary pacer Shoaib Akhtar names batsman he was most afraid of during his days

Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar was a cause of fear among the batsmen of the whole world, but now, the Pakistan himself has revealed which batsman Shoaib Akhtar was afraid of.

Shoaib Akhtar is one of best pace bowler the whole world has seen. Any batsman infront of him would be scared of him. But now, he himself has named two batsmen whom he was scared of.

While in a conversation with Mohammad Kaif on Sportskeeda’s YouTube channel, Shoaib Akhtar revealed that Adam Gilchrist and Ricky Ponting are the two batsmen he was most afraid of.

Akhtar said that Adam Gilchrist was the best man and the insane batsman as because he had the ability to hit a six on the ball he could have got out. He gave example of past battle between them, citing how Gilchrist hit him for a six the next ball after he hit Adam on his body.

While coming to 2nd batsman Ricky Ponting, Shoaib Akhtar said that he used to think that if Ponting remained on the crease for 15 to 20 balls, then he can’t be dismissed before he had atleast played 120 balls. However, other than the two, he also mentioned how Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid had no effect of his bowling in them.

If we talk about Shoaib Akhtara a more, he was one of the most dangerous fast bowlers in the world. He holds the record for bowling the fastest ball in world cricket history. On 22nd February 2003, Shoaib Akhtar set the record for the fastest delivery in world cricket. He surprised everyone by bowling at a speed of 161.3 KMPH, till date no one has been able to break his record.
