Indian wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik penned a heart-touching note for the Indian cricket team after they exited the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 before the semifinals. The Indian cricket team started the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 as one of the favorites. However, they lost their first two matches of the tournament to Pakistan and New Zealand.

Virat Kohli and co. had slim chances of qualifying for the semifinals after the two defeats in the first two games. Still, they fought back and registered three big wins in three matches to keep their hopes alive. India would have qualified for semifinals had Namibia, Scotland or Afghanistan recorded an upset victory against the New Zealand cricket team. However, the same did not happen.

The last game of the Super 12 round of ICC T20 World Cup 2021 happened earlier tonight, where the Indian cricket team defeated the Namibian cricket team by nine wickets. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin picked up three wickets each for the Men in Blue, while Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul scored a fifty each.

Our campaign may have ended here, but not the support of a billion fans: Dinesh Karthik

With this T20 World Cup, the era of Virat Kohli as the Indian T20I captain has ended. Also, it was Ravi Shastri’s last game as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. Dinesh Karthik posted a tweet after the Indian cricket team defeated the Namibian cricket team at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Here’s what Karthik wrote:

“Our campaign may have ended here, but not the support of a billion fans. Life has its ups & downs and so do sports. Let’s regroup and focus on the new season ahead. My best wishes with the boys for many more sweet moments in the time ahead.”
