A memorable debut by Jason Roy for SRH

After a long time, SRH cruised to a victory in IPL. While the bowlers did well in the back end, it was the positive start by the openers which helped SRH win the game. At the centre of the impressive show was the memorable debut by English opener Jason Roy.

Although he was playing IPL cricket after a long time, Roy looked comfortable at the crease. Most importantly, he played his natural game which helped SRH get off to a good start. Before he got out to Chetan Sakariya, Roy made 60 runs from 42 deliveries. His knock included eight boundaries and a six.

Warner’s SRH journey is almost over

David Warner’s time with SRH seems to be over. However, the player reacted positively to Jason Roy’s stunning debut for the team. He appreciated the Englishman’s knock on his Instagram story.

It is almost certain that SRH will not retain Warner before IPL 2022. Although he has been the best player in SRH history, things did not go rosy this season. Hence, Warner was sacked as captain and was also dropped from the team. With Jonny Bairstow pulling himself out of the tournament, Warner got a chance in the XI in the UAE leg. However, with two consecutive failures, he got dropped again. With Roy performing well, it is unlikely that Warner will play for SRH this season. This could mean that he might have as well played his last game for the franchise.
