Ajay Jadeja reveals why he was disappointed with Virat Kohli’s comment after loss to Pakistan

Ajay Jadeja Virat Kohli T20 World Cup 2021 press conference

Former Indian cricketer and expert Ajay Jadeja has expressed his disappointment at Virat Kohli’s comments during the post match press conference after the Pakistan match on the 24th October in the T20 World Cup 2021.

Team India suffered a massive 10 wickets defeat against their neighbours and arch-rival Pakistan in their opening match of the competition. India had got off to a poor start after losing the toss as the Pakistan’s left-arm pace bowler Shaheen Afridi wrecked havoc and picked up both the opening batsman Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul’s wicket in just for 6 runs.

Asked about the same to Virat Kohli during the post match press conference, the 32-year-old Indian captain stated that losing the 2 wickets early on in the powerplay made it hard for India to make its comeback in the match.

Ajay Jadeja responds to Virat Kohli’s comment

In response to that, Ajay Jadeja stated during a Cricbuzz show that he heard Virat Kohli’s statement about India losing 2 early wickets in powerplay made it difficult for India. But he believes that with players like Virat Kohli on the pitch, there is no way the match is over.

He further added that thinking the same shows the Indian team’s approach, whereas, other teams are all about attack, no matter who is on the pitch, giving an example of the England cricket team.

The England cricket team is experiencing the best of success in the recent times having won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 event in their home land and is one of the favourites to win the T20 World Cup 2021 having won their first 2 matches in the competition so far.

India vs New Zealand T20 World Cup 2021

As for the Indian cricket team, the Virat Kohli led side will now take on the New Zealand team in their 2nd match of the tournament on the 31st October. Both India and New Zealand suffered defeat to Pakistan in their respective opening match of the competition.

Thus, the match between India and New Zealand will be very crucial as it might affect the teams’ chances of progressing to the next round, the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2021.
