A big breaking news is coming out about the inaugural Women’s Indian Premier League (Women’s IPL). According to some news, now the Women’s IPL will be organized in full and it will be organized in March next year.

According to the news on the PTI, a total of five to six teams will participate in the inaugural Women’s IPL and it will last for a whole month. In fact, till now there were three teams in the Women’s IPL (kind of) and only four matches were played between them. Because of this, all the players used to get very few chances. However, according to the news, now the women’s IPL is being prepared on a full-fledged level.

Talking to the PTI, a senior BCCI official said, “Yes, the Women’s IPL will start in the first week of March and we have prepared a four-week window for the first year.”

The Women’s T20 World Cup will be played in South Africa from February 9 to 26 and soon after that the historic Women’s IPL will organized. The source further confirmed that at present, there will be only five or six teams in the inaugural edition but depending on the interest of the investors, it can also be increased. He also confirmed that when the time comes, the auction process for the teams will also be announced.

Let us tell you that from time to time, Indian women players have also expressed their suggestions regarding the organization of Women’s IPL. Indian team’s veteran opener Smriti Mandhana had also said that the Women’s IPL should be organized on a large scale. Mandhana had said that there are enough girls in the states that women’s IPL can be started with at least 5-6 teams. After that gradually it can increase it to 8 teams.

It must be noted that IPL franchises like the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have openly expressed their intention to field team in the Women’s IPL as they are doing in the inaugural Women’s CPL with Trinbago Knight Riders and Barbados Royals. But finally, the dreams of the Women’s IPL is likely to come fruition very soon.
