Young opening batsman Abhishek Sharma paid off for the faith that Sunrisers Hyderabad have been showing on him for the last couple of years, and backing him to succeed.
Match number 40 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is being played between the two of top of the table teams, Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Gujarat Titans in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
It was Hardik Pandya who won the toss and opted to ball first. However, things were not that good for the Gujarat Titans bowlers. After dismissing Kane Williamson and Rahul Tripathi in the powerplay, 3rd wicket was hard to come by.
Hyderabad’s young opening batsman Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram formed a great partnership, adding 96 runs for the 3rd wicket partnership.
Abhishek played a pivotal role in that partnership, scoring 65 runs, paying off for all the faith that Sunrisers Hyderabad have shown on him. Even though he did not had a great start to the IPL 2022, Hyderabad kept on going going with him as the opener alongside Kane Williamson.
Fans at first criticised him for not performing, but were forced to prase him as he is one of the reason behind Hyderabad great comeback into the competition after losing the first 3 matches.
