After dominating Australia in the 1st day of the play, Australia pulled off a good comeback in the 2nd day of the play as India ended the day’s play on 321 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.

While India captain Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant century, it was the batting performance from Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel that saw India touch the 300 mark after the middle-order failed to perform.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli could score only 7 and 12 runs respectively while debutant Suryakumar Yadav scored only 8 runs. Jadeja today got out early on for 70 runs after a brilliant ball from Todd Murphy. Mohammed Shami also did well as he scored 37 runs, but the highlight of the day was Axar Patel, who fell short of a century by just 16 runs as he was dismissed for 84 runs. As such, Team India put up a total of 400 runs on the board.

After this performance from the Indian lower order batters, the Twitter feels nowadays India’s lower-order is much better than middle-order and the whole Australia Playing XI in this match.
