The 1st Test match of the 4 match Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series between India and Australia is turning its head every 10 minutes of the 3rd day’s play.
After dominating Australia in the 1st day of the play, Australia pulled off a good comeback in the 2nd day of the play as India ended the day’s play on 321 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
While India captain Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant century, it was the batting performance from Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel that saw India touch the 300 mark after the middle-order failed to perform.
Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli could score only 7 and 12 runs respectively while debutant Suryakumar Yadav scored only 8 runs. Jadeja today got out early on for 70 runs after a brilliant ball from Todd Murphy. Mohammed Shami also did well as he scored 37 runs, but the highlight of the day was Axar Patel, who fell short of a century by just 16 runs as he was dismissed for 84 runs. As such, Team India put up a total of 400 runs on the board.
After this performance from the Indian lower order batters, the Twitter feels nowadays India’s lower-order is much better than middle-order and the whole Australia Playing XI in this match.
Aussie be like- Middle order se darr nhi lagta sahab tailenders se lagta hai.#INDvsAUS

Another typical Indian batting performance. The openers start well, middle order collapses, lower middle order and the tail smash it. This is going on for 2 years now lol #INDvAUS

Aussies cribbing about a pitch being doctored to tackle Aussies left handed batsmen.

Jadeja and Axar (lower middle order) teaching them how to bat.
Our lower middle order contributes more in crucial series.

Shami is batting better than the entire Aussie team on this pitch! I don’t see any demons in the pitch the Indian lower middle order has scored more than the Aussies. Spin is on their head! 😂

How do you actually compete with this side in Asia when they rack up a 200 run first innings lead with basically no middle order at all? 🤣
