The first edition of the South African T20 league, the SA20 League has officially began and today the 2nd match of the tournament is currently being played between hosts Durban’s Super Giants and the Joburg Super Kings in Durban.
It was the Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis who won the toss and opted to bat first. However, the Super Kings’ top-order was rattled by the Super Giants bowlers.
Joburg Super Kings (JSK) lost 4 wickets in the powerplay itself until captain Faf du Plessis and youngster Donovan Ferreira settled the inning.
Both added a partnership of 72 runs for the 5th wicket until Faf got out. But the young South African wicketkeeper Ferreira kept on with his performance and punishing the Super Giants bowlers.
He scored 82 runs from 40 balls while there was a cameo from Romario Shephard as well that saw JSK put 190 runs on the board. Meanwhile after his performance, fans are now demanding that Ferreira joins the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team. However, Ferreira has been picked by the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2023 Auction for 50 Lakh.
