“Pollard thinks his team is the most successful…” – CSK’s Dwayne Bravo pulls leg on MI’s Kieron Pollard after CSK won their 5th IPL title

Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Dwayne Bravo pulled leg on former Mumbai Indians all-rounder Kieron Pollard after Bravo’s coached team CSK won the IPL 2023 Final beating Gujarat Titans.

Chennai Super Kings recorded a hard-fought victory in the Grand Finale of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 vs Gujarat Titans to win their 5th IPL title in their history to equal the records with Mumbai Indians of having won the IPL the most, 5 times.

After this spectacular win for the Chennai Super Kings, the former all-rounder for the team, who also played for the Mumbai Indians, mocked or pulled leg on his fellow countrymen and former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard.

Pollard is currently working as the batting coach of the Mumbai Indians after announcing his retirement before IPL 2023 season.

Celebrating their win, Bravo posted on his Instagram account a post dedicated to his former teammate. In a funny manner, he mocked Pollard. He wrote in his post, “Can someone help me settle this debate. Apparently the LLORD @kieron.pollard55 believes that his team is the most successful IPL team. Let the record show that @chennaiipl is the most successful IPL team.”

He further added, “Furthermore, he @kieron.pollard55 wants to talk about trophies. Let the records show AGAIN this is now my 17th title while @kieron.pollard55 you are still on #15. You have some serious catching up to do. Put some respect on my name please. Thank you very much.”

Mumbai Indians is one of the most dominant team in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, Mumbai won 5 title. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who were once the most successful team in the IPL, lagged behind Mumbai, but they caught up well and won the IPL in 2021 and 2023 to equal the record for the winning the IPL the most times, 5 times.

CSK chased down a revised target of 171 runs in 15 overs due to DLS method that was enforced due to rain in Ahmedabad. Gujarat had scored 214 runs in the first inning, but the game was delayed for a big chunk of time and eventually the match began at late night.

With 10 runs requiring in the last 2 balls, Ravindra Jadeja hit Mohit Sharma for a 6 and then a boundary to win the match.
