Lockie Ferguson created history in the final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The Gujarat Titans pacer bowled the fastest ball in IPL history against Rajasthan Royals. Lockie Ferguson clocked at 157.3 KMPH in the fifth over of Rajasthan’s innings. With that, he also overtook Umran Malik’s fastest ball in the IPL 2022.
Lockie Ferguson bowled the fastest ball in IPL history to Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson, who was beaten dearly. Ferguson achieved the feat on the last ball of the fifth over. Sanju Samson could not even touch this ball.
The Gujarat Titans pacer clocked at 157 KMPH in the very same season and has now overtook that too. Meanwhile, he also overtook Umran Malik, to so far clinch the fastest ball of the tournament award.
Umran Malik had made the record of bowling the fastest ball in 14 consecutive matches but in the final match, Lockie Ferguson has taken the lead in the course.
Let us tell you that before this the fastest ball in IPL history was named after Shaun Tait. Tait did this feat in IPL 2011. He also bowled at the speed of 157.3 KMPH but Lockie Ferguson is ahead of him by decimal points.
Twitterati didn’t thought that anyone could take the overtake Umran Malik’s pace, check-out how Twitter reacted.
