Rahul Tripathi finished things up in the match number 17 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with a cameo of 39 runs from 15 balls.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won their first match of the IPL 2022 campaign against Chennai Super Kings as Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi led the charge to chase the target of 155 runs.
While Abhishek Sharma did the brilliant job up the order, Rahul Tripathi came in and played a cameo of 39 runs from 15 balls to led Sunrisers Hyderabad over the line in the match number 17 of the IPL 2022.
Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction for heft price of 8.5 crore. He made headline after featuring alongside MS Dhoni while playing for Rising Pune Super Giants, and then some extraordinary performance while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders.
SRH have not had a great start to their IPL 2022 campaign, struggling to score runs, especially their opening pair has proven tough to get going.
But after Tripathi’s cameo today, the Twitterati are demanding that Sunrisers Hyderabad promote the Maharashtra batsman to open the inning alongside Abhishek Sharma, while moving down captain Kane Williamson to middle-order or number 3.
Petition to let Tripathi open from next match. 🤝

Why open with Kane Williamson when you already have two brilliant openers – Rahul Tripathi and Aiden Markram in your side?

Tripathi is just too good, I think he should open with Abhishek and Williamson at 3 (he has near to 40 avg and near to 130 strike rate).

Why SRH won’t go with the opening pair of Abhishek-Tripathi? This looks best for them with Kane at 3.

Well played, Abhishek and Tripathi. Made a tricky chase look very easy.

Rahul Tripathi is the most underrated player of IPL? He delivered wherever he played. Played for RPSG, KKR and now SRH. Opened the batting, played at 5 & now playing at 3. He literally excelled everywhere.
