It was Ravindra Jadeja who won the toss and opted to bowl first. They were in rampage mode with the ball as they dismissed first 3 of their batsmen in just the 3 overs. But, after a valiant effort from Tilak Verma, Mumbai posted 156 runs target for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

In reply to that, CSK lost first two wickets for 16 runs. After that Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu build a solid partnership, but as soon they were dismissed, Mumbai got back into the game, and in the end, CSK needed 16 runs from the last 4 balls, in which MS Dhoni scored all those runs to win the match for the Chennai based side.

In this year’s IPL, where players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan have failed badly with the bat so far, apart from Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni), players like Dinesh Karthik, Rahul Tewatia, Hardik Pandya have performed well this season and could be in contention for a spot in the Indian cricket team.

Team India’s performance in the last T20 World Cup was very disappointing. The 2021 T20 World Cup was played in the UAE, hosted by the BCCI, where the team could not reach the semi-finals after losing against Pakistan and New Zealand.

With that lose against Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians have become the only team in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to lose first 7 matches consecutively and currently sits at the bottom of the points table.
