Mumbai Indians became the first team to be ruled out of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 after eight consecutive defeats. Nonetheless, they registered their first win of the season by defeating Rajasthan Royals last week.

Kumar Karthikeya, who played his first match this season, impressed everyone with his bowling. Now, Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene has hinted that another player could make his debut for the five-time champions.

Actually, for some time now, there is talk about when the time will come for Arjun Tendulkar to make his debut. Seeing the way Mumbai Indians have performed so far this season, fans and cricket experts are hoping that soon the team can give Arjun Tendulkar a chance in the playing XI.

In a recent press conference regarding this, the team’s head coach Mahela Jayawardene said that everyone in the team is option to be tried at some stages. He added that it’s all about match-ups and how the team can win the match as confirmed that their priority is to get a proper match-ups.

Jayawardene further added that every game is all about the matter of confidence. He added that they managed to get their first win and it is all about winning together and getting the confidence back. He continued that the best players are fielded on the field and if Arjun is one of them, then the team will surely consider it, but signed off, but it all depends on the combination.

“Every game is a confidence thing, we managed to get our first win and it is about stringing wins together and get the confidence back. It is about putting the best guys in the park. If Arjun is one of them, then we will consider it, yes, but it all depends on the combination that we put out,” said Jayawardene.

Arjun was signed by five-time champions Mumbai for an amount of Rs 30 lakh in a two-day mega auction held earlier in February. Arjun did not get a chance in a single match so far this season. Meanwhile, nothing has been going well for Mumbai Indians in the current season. Mumbai tried different team combinations in almost every match but to no avail.
