“I fear we may run out of luck in the knockout games” – Hardik Pandya on Gujarat Titans chances in Playoffs

Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans walked off with a fantastic thrilling win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the match number 40 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Umran Malik with his fiery pace bowling had almost dethroned Gujarat Titans off the top of the table. It needed a six of the last ball of the match from Rashid Khan for Gujarat Titans to walk out victorious and continue to lead the train.

It was Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya who won the toss and opted of ball first. Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to put 195 runs on the board, thanks to great innings from Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram and an explosive inning of 25 runs from 6 balls from Shashank Singh.

Chasing the target, former Hyderabad player Wriddhiman Saha built the foundation upfront, scoring 68 runs from 38 balls, while, Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan played cameo to take their team over the line. Rahul scored 40 runs off 21 balls while Rashid Khan smashed 31 runs of 11 balls.

During the post-match show, Hardik Pandya lavished praise on his team and lauded their efforts. He said that he keeps joking in the dressing room that God is telling them that they are good and the almighty will help them.

He added that he fears that it is happening so often that they may run out of luck in the knockout games. “It’s happening so often that I fear we may run out of luck in the knockout games,” said Hardik Pandya.

Gujarat Titans is playing their first ever season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and outstanding performance showes what a quality team they have built. They next take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on the 30th of April.
