Former Indian cricketer and off-spin bowler Harbhajan Singh has praised the temperament that young Lucknow Super Giants batsman Ayush Badoni has shown in this year’s IPL and pointed out what makes him very special.
Ayush Badoni is one of the most promising and up and coming star player to come out of the Indian Premier League (IPL)’s 2022 season. The Lucknow Super Giants youngster have shown lots of promise and fans are expecting him to make it big.
And so is former Indian cricketer and off-spin bowler Harbhajan Singh. Harbhajan Singh praised the youngster for his season so far for the Lucknow based franchise that is playing their first ever season in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
While talking on ‘Cricket Live’ show on Star Sports, Harbhajan Singh said that Badoni is a very confident player and KL Rahul was spot on with his observation of him (calling him Baby AB) and he how calm and composed he is. “Ayush Badoni is a very confident player,” stated Harbhajan.
He added that it doesn’t feel like he is playing his first season in the IPL. He continued that he has the ability to absorb the pressure, which is sign of a big player and a future star.
He further added that youngsters do tend to struggle against big reputation players, which certainly is not the case for Ayush and stated that he has looked very comfortable playing against the big players he has played so far and has shown maturity.
“Youngsters gets bogged down while facing bigger reputation players, but it has not been the case for Badoni. He has been intimated by the reputation of bigger reputation players and continued to play his shots,” said the former Indian cricketer.
Ayush made his IPL debut in Lucknow’s first match in the IPL, coming in at a time when the team was under big pressure, but the youngster went on to score 54 runs, but unfortunately Lucknow lost that match.
Thereafter, he has played small knocks but impact knocks, either finishing the match, or getting less chances to bat, but has proven himself as a quality player to watch out for.
