Chennai Super Kings sign Sisanda Magala for IPL 2023

Just ahead of their season opener in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have made a big announcement as they have announced South African pacer Sisanda Magala as Kyle Jamieson’s replacement for IPL 2023.

After being crowned the champions beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2021 Final, Chennai Super Kings finished 2nd bottom in the IPL 2022 points table.

And with their captain and star wicketkeeper batsman MS Dhoni is nearing the end of his career, the franchise would like to say him Goodbye with a IPL Trophy by winning the IPL 2023.

They have a formidable squad for the IPL 2023 that has some great talents in the team. One of them is Kyle Jamieson, the New Zealand pacer who was once bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for 15 crore, was snapped up for just 1 crore in the IPL 2023.

However, the pacer suffered injury just before the start of the season. The Chennai Super Kings had to hustle through to get a replacement. They officially announced the 32-years-old Sisanda Magala as his replacement.

The right-arm pacer is a South Africa international having made his debut in 2021 and has so far played 4 T20I matches and has taken 3 wickets.

Magala played domestic cricket for Eastern Province and Warriors on 2 terms but currently he plays domestic cricket for Gauteng. Other than that, he has also played for the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants, Cape Town Blitz and Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the recently concluded inaugural SA20 League.

He played number of matches for the team was a star bowler in their title winning campaign. He picked 14 wickets in total, 2 of them came in the final of the SA20 League.
