Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have kept their hopes for a top 2 finish in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 points table alive with a last over thriller win vs Mumbai Indians.
Batting first, thanks to some brutal carnage from Marcus Stoinis, Lucknow Super Giants were able to put 177 runs on the board.
Chasing the target, Mumbai’s openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan added 90 runs partnership. However, after the duo departed, things went downhill for the Mumbai side.
Tim David with his explosive batting brought in light in darkness. He scored 32 runs in 19 balls. Mumbai needed 11 runs of the last over. Cameron Green, who was bought by the franchise for massive 17.50 crore, faced 4 deliveries of Mohsin Khan but failed to hit a single boundary.
While Mohsin bowled brilliantly, the fans expected more from Cameron Green for the money he is being paid. See how Twitterati reacted.
MOHSIN KHAN – THE HERO OF LSG.
MI needed 11 in 6 balls with David and Green – 0,1,1,0,1,1. He's still not fully 100%, but Mohsin showed his class! Take a bow, Mohsin! pic.twitter.com/qw35yM4eHb— Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) May 16, 2023Advertisement
Green should have played with a sense. He should have know that he won't see any pace from mohsin to smack the ball.
