Delhi Capitals’ star pacer Anrich Nortje headlines Capitals owned Pretoria Capitals squad in CSA T20 League

The Indian Premier League (IPL)’s Delhi Capitals owned Pretoria Capitals has completed the signing of 2 South African pace bowlers for the upcoming CSA T20 League to be played in 2023. Both the players are South African fast bowlers Migael Pretorius and Anrich Nortje, the latter of whom was a member of the Delhi Capitals squad in the IPL 2022.

Since the foundation of the Cricket South Africa (CSA) T20 League was announced, there were a huge interest among the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise owners to invest in the league.

South Africa have been several times the venue for Indian Premier League (IPL) when it had to be played outside India due to some reasons and it received a great ovation, which has mainly worked a key role in making the IPL franchise owners’ mind clear.

A total of 6 teams will be taking part in the CSA T20 League and all of the teams have been acquired by 6 IPL franchise owners. They are using as a great opportunity to expand their business and branding.

Of the six teams, Delhi Capitals have bought the Pretoria based franchise and could be named Pretoria Capitals. While it’s not confirm yet, the team has signed 2 players for the competition, one of them is a Delhi Capitals players.

Delhi Capitals’ campaigner Anrich Nortje has been signed by Pretoria Capitals who have done a great job displacing Kagiso Rabada from Delhi Capitals in IPL. Along with Nortje, another South African bowler Migael Pretorius have also been signed by Pretoria Capitals.

Nortje has played 22 T20I matches for South Africa and has taken 23 wickets. He has thus played 30 IPL matches and has 43 wickets to his name.

As for Migael Pretorius, the uncapped pacer has played 38 T20 matches in his career and has taken 54 wickets with an economy rate of 8.58.

The CSA T20 League (name yet to be unveiled) will be played in the month of January-February next year. Apart from this, the Durban franchise has included Quinton de Kock, Jason Holder and Kyle Meyers in their team. The team is owned by the RSPG Group, which owns the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL.
