The Indian cricket team is one of the most strongest cricket team in the world and one of the big reason behind the team’s success is the success of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Premier Indian T20 cricket team. It is one of the biggest sporting league in the world financially and commercially.

But not only that, the Indian Premier League (IPL), since its inception in the year 2008, has brought forward many talented cricketers who have played for the Indian team. IPL teams go into the deeper world of Indian domestic and scouts hidden gems, who then when given opportunity, proves themselves and make a name for themselves and become one of the best.

And now to further strengthen the team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has brought in a women’s equavalent to the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

The competition will feature a total of 5 teams, 3 of them are already existing IPL franchises and 2 are owned by companies who don’t own a team in the IPL. Women’s players from India and all around the world will take part in the competition that begins from 4th March.

The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will be live telecasted by Viacom 18 network through their Sports18 channel, such as Sports18, Sports18 Khel for Hindi version. Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Giants first match for WPL 2023

The first match of the Women’s Premier League will be played on the 4th of March between Mumbai Indians, led by Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Gujarat Giants, led by Australian wicketkeeper batsman Beth Mooney.
