Wasim Akram picks his new Fab 4; leaves out Williamson and Smith

Former Pakistan cricket team fast bowler Wasim Akram recently formed a new ‘Fab 4’ group of batters. Many fans would know that there is a ‘Fab 4’ group comprising the Indian Test cricket team captain Virat Kohli, the former Australian Test cricket team captain Steve Smith, the New Zealand cricket team captain Kane Williamson and the England cricket team captain Joe Root.

Interestingly, Akram did not name the duo of Williamson and Smith while naming his ‘Fab 4’ in a recent interview with Sport 360. The former Pakistan cricket team fast bowler heaped praise on the current skipper of the Pakistan cricket team Babar Azam and said that he deserves to be a part of the ‘Fab 4’ group.

“He (Babar Azam) came through the proper ranks, I have worked with him in Karachi Kings as well from last three years. I love his work ethic, he is focused and he’s never satisfied with his performance and that’s a sign of a good leader,” said Wasim Akram.

Babar Azam has played 37 Test matches, 83 one-day international matches and 73 T20 international matches for the Pakistan cricket team. He has a batting average of more than 40 in all formats. Azam has recorded 20 centuries in international cricket so far.

“And now he’s the part of Fab four”- Wasim Akram on Babar Azam

Wasim Akram further said that according to him Babar Azam is now a part of the Fab four group along with Virat Kohli, Joe Root and Australia’s David Warner.

“And now he’s the part of Fab four. [Virat] Kohli, [David] Warner, [Joe] Root and Babar is now getting high on top. Kohli is up there with Babar,” Wasim Akram added.

All four players are exceptional players. Interestingly, as per Wasim Akram, Warner should be in Fab 4 instead of Smith and Williamson.
