Another day ended in a heartbreak for the Indian women’s cricket team and its fans as they suffered a close defeat against Australia in the Gold medal match of the Commonwealth Games 2022.
Batting first, Australia scored 161 runs with Beth Mooney alone scoring 61 runs. Team India in response lost 2 wickets very early. While Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur tried their best, but flurry of wickets at the crucial time meant India fell short by just 9 runs.
With that, India’s hope for the Gold medal in cricket in Commonwealth Games was crushed. However, even after the defeat, there were some really good moments in the match, one of which when Radha Yadav cheekily run out Australia captain Meg Lenning.
