Indian opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad achieved a massive feat to his name as the Maharashtra batsman displayed his ruthless inning in the match against Uttar Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022.
Ruturaj Gaikwad had a breakthrough year in the IPL 2021 season for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) leading them to the title and also winning the orange cap that year. He made his India debut as well following that.
However, the IPL 2022 season did not go as well for the right-hand batsman and has not played for the Indian team in the recent times as well. People complain that he is not a proper T20 batsman as well.
However, Ruturaj shut all those mouths today with his batting performance in the match against Uttar Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Gaikwad scored a magnificent double hundred that included a over when he hit 7 Sixes in an over.
It was the 2nd last over of the inning when Ruturaj hit 4 consecutive Sixes to bowler Shiva Singh and then followed a no ball which he smashed again out of the park. He then scored further 2 sixes in the next 2 balls to complete his double hundred as well as 7 sixes in 6 balls.
Following this performance from Maharashtra captain, Twitterati is once again praising the batter and many even making fun that Stuart Broad will be very happy that he is not the bowler to have conceded most runs in an over.
