An interesting Test match is going on between the hosts Australia cricket team and the South Africa cricket team at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in Sydney.
The hosts Australia already lead the 3 match series 2-0 and looks to make it 3-0 in favour of them.
After winning the toss, Australian captain Pat Cummins opted to bat first. Meanwhile, the continued to bat from the start of Day 1 till the 4th Day of the play. Note that rain has played major spoilsport in the match with the day 3 completely getting washed out.
Australia put on 475 runs on the board in those 3 and a half days before declaring the inning. Meanwhile, Australia captain Pat Cummins’ decision to declare the inning at a point when the opening batsman Usman Khawaja was just 5 runs short of his double hundred, has certainly shocked everyone.
Khawaja who opened the inning for Australia, remained not out on 195 runs from 368 balls as Cummins declared the inning. After that, the Twitterati have been left confused with the decision.

So Cummins did a Dravid. Sachin knows how Khawaja must be feeling. #AUSvSA

Pat Cummins deciding to declare when Khawaja need 5 runs to get a double-ton is disgraceful. The match is going to be a draw regardless.

Usman Khawaja has every right to be pissed off right now – it was gonna be a draw anyway, let the poor man make 5 more runs #AUSvSA

Australia declaring in a dead rubber game where they need 20 wickets in a day & a half of play and Usman Khawaja on 195 not out is an absolute dog move. Usman Khawaja deserved the chance to get his first ever 200. #AUSvSA
