“That’s a slap to Ramiz Raja’s face who said his career is over” – Twitter reacts as Sarfaraz Ahmed’s heroic century save Pakistan from series defeat against New Zealand

Despite 10 days of red ball cricket in the 2 match Test series between Pakistan cricket team and the New Zealand cricket team, the series ended in the Trophy getting shared with no result in both the matches.

After the 1st match had ended in a draw in Karachi, the 2nd match was also played in Karachi. It turned out to be a thrilling match between the sides where the New Zealand team came close to victory.

Batting first, New Zealand scored 449 runs with Devon Conway scoring a century. In reply to that, the Pakistan cricket team scored 408 with a century from Saud Shakeel.

Nee Zealand further added a total of 277 runs in the 2nd inning with Tom Blundell and Michael Bracewell both scoring 74 runs. That setup a target of 319 runs for Pakistan on the last couple of minutes of 4th Day and entire 5th day.

However, the Pakistan team lost 2 wickets by the end of 4th day’s play. There were small partnerships, but enough to help Pakistan survive a defeat until former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed scored a brilliant 118 runs to save Pakistan.

Neither did he saved the team from defeat, but took them close to victory actually until he got dismissed. He was the 9th batsman to be dismissed, however, both Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed survived the last couple of balls to end in the draw the match.

Meanwhile note that Sarfaraz Ahmed made his return to Pakistan after a huge gap and was the best player in the series. He scored a total 335 runs in the series. Meanwhile Twitterati praised the former Pakistan captain.
