Off the books, the South African T20 league, the SA20 League has been a hit with some competitive matches all around the competition and there has not been a team that has completely dominated the league.
With the efforts of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in unearthing some unknown Indian talents that has contributed really well to the development of the Indian cricket team, the South African cricket board also planned their own T20 league.
With Greame Smith at the head of the table, he has led brilliantly to forming a top-class T20 league in the country. And much credit to the league’s success goes to the influence of the IPL teams investing in the league, owning a team in the league.
A total of 6 teams participate in the league, all of whom are owned by IPL franchises. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Mumbai Indians owned MI Cape Town is the most expensive team in the league.
According to reports, Mumbai Indians (MI) bought the team for 210 crore while the 2nd best is the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Joburg Super Kings. After this, Twitter have been making fun of the MI team again.
MI Cape Town was purchased for 210cr, the highest in the SA20 league. JSK for 150cr. (Reported by Daily Mail).
