Australia and Pakistan will clash in the semis of T20 WC

Both Pakistan and Australia had issues coming into this World Cup. While Pakistan had to deal with their own unpredictability, Australia had issues with team balance and a few out of form players. However, both teams have overcome their issues with a good result.

Pakistan whitewashed the group including Team India. Despite a few inconsistencies, Australia largely looked a quality side in the Super 12 stages. Pakistan has had performers in all departments, while for Australia, the form of David Warner has helped them do well. While the subcontinent team will want to continue the momentum, Australia will prioritize performance in the powerplay to exert dominance over Pakistan.

Justin Langer Hails Babar Azam

Ahead of the showdown on Thursday in Dubai, Justin Langer spoke about the impending game apart from throwing light on the happenings so far. He also reserved a few words of praise for Pakistan captain and star batsman Babar Azam.

Speaking about Babar, the Australian Head Coach said, “Their captain, Babar Azam, is a superstar of the game. They’ve some good pace bowlers, and they have a couple of good spinners, so they’re a well-balanced side like we are, so it should be a great game of cricket.”

For a team that was the best a few years ago, Langer would want the dominant phase to return. They would eagerly want to lift their first T20 WC trophy. On the other hand, Pakistan will have a point to prove. This is especially relevant with the criticism on the team and problems within the board in recent months.
