Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful teams in the Indian Premier League. One of the prime reasons for this is the presence of MS Dhoni. The former Indian captain has been the captain of the side since the inaugural season in 2008.
That is one of the reasons that fans are also engaged with this team in large numbers and want to be updated on whatever events and activities happen on the team. CSK has done a brilliant job in the ongoing 16th edition of the league.
They are currently in second place and almost through to the playoffs. CSK won their last game against the Delhi Capitals on Wednesday at Chepauk Stadium by 27 runs. Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged “Man of the Match” for his all-round performance.
He scored 21 off 16 with the bat and followed it up with an economical spell of 1/19 in his four overs. However, while receiving the MOTM award, Jadeja opened up about his batting position. He said that if he bats ahead of MS Dhoni and everyone wants him to get out early so that MSD can come to bat.
He said, “Everyone’s doing their job. We are doing a good job collectively. (On batting higher) I keep hearing Mahi bhai’s chants. If I bat higher, then the crowd will wait for me to get out. As long as the team wins, I am happy.”
However, a Twitter user tweeted Jadeja’s post-match presentation photo and wrote that the all-rounder was in a lot of pain, and interestingly, Jadeja liked his post, which raised many eyebrows: did he also agree with that?
Earlier in the last season, there were rumors about a rift between the all-rounder and the franchise when he was sacked from the captaincy midway through the season. But ahead of the start of the IPL 2023, the all-rounder confirmed that there is no tension between him and the team. Meanwhile, Jadeja is in fine form this season. He has taken 16 wickets and also scored 113 runs with the bat.
