“Good job guys” – Rishabh Pant shares special message for Delhi Capitals after they won last over thriller vs Gujarat Titans

On Tuesday, May 2nd, in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Delhi Capitals (DC) emerged victorious with a narrow five-run win over the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT). Despite the DC batters struggling to score runs, the team’s bowlers played a crucial role throughout GT’s innings, and they successfully defended the modest target set by DC. This was only DC’s third win in the ongoing season.

Delhi skipper David Warner won the toss and elected to bat first, but the team’s batters faced a tough time against the Gujarat bowlers, managing to score only 130 runs in their 20 overs, with Aman Khan making a valiant half-century.

However, Delhi’s bowlers fought back brilliantly and restricted the Hardik Pandya-led side to just 125 runs in their allotted overs.

DC’s regular skipper Rishabh Pant was delighted with his team’s performance against the top team in the league. He congratulated the DC players on his official Instagram handle by sharing a story that featured Ishant Sharma’s stats on a television screen, along with the message “Good job guys.”

Pant also acknowledged Sharma’s excellent performance in defending 12 runs in the penultimate over.

Due to his involvement in a severe car accident in December 2022, Rishabh Pant was under rehabilitation and was unable to participate in the 16th edition of the IPL. The young player sustained injuries to his head, back, and feet, which kept him out of action since then. As a result, Australian opener David Warner was named the captain of the Delhi Capitals team.

On April 4, Pant watched the IPL 2023 match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. However, his team suffered a loss in this encounter, as the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans won the match by six wickets.
