The All India Senior Selection Committee has announced the Rest of India squad for the Irani Cup 2022 on 28 September. The 15-member Rest of India squad includes talented Delhi batsman Yash Dhull, who scored centuries in both the Ranji Trophy 2021-2022 and the Duleep Trophy 2022.
Apart from Yash Dhul, India opener Mayank Agarwal and young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal have also been included in the Rest of India squad for the Irani Cup 2022.
India International and middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari will captain the Rest of India team in the match against 2019-20 Ranji Trophy winners Saurashtra to be played from 1-5 October at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
The prestigious Irani Cup tournament is making a comeback to India’s domestic cricket schedule after three years, as it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. National Cricket Academy (NCA) coach Shitanshu Kotak will coach the Rest of India squad for the upcoming Irani Cup 2022.
Meanwhile, Rest of India’s batting line-up is really strong comprising of Sarfaraz Khan, KS Bharat, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Priyank Panchal, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mayank Agarwal and Yash Dhul. While the pace attack has been entrusted to Umran Malik, Mukesh Kumar, Kuldeep Sen and Arjan Nagwaswala, the spin department of Rest of India will be handled by Jayant Yadav and Saurabh Kumar.
