“Rohit Sharma is an issue” – Michael Vaughan hits at Rohit Sharma and Mumbai Indians after failure in IPL 2022

Mumbai Indians (MI) and Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is struggling with the bat in the ongoing 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Neither Rohit Sharma’s bat is shining in the ongoing IPL 2022, nor is the luck of Mumbai Indians (MI), as the franchise has lost all its six matches played so far, while the captain has scored only 114 runs and has disappointed everyone.

Reacting to the Mumbai Indians (MI) captain’s struggle with the bat in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2022, former England captain Michael Vaughan said he feels Rohit Sharma has lost his touch with the bat after was handed the captaincy of India in all formats of the game, mentioning that his performance has been on a steady decline.

According to Michael Vaughan, after becoming the captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma’s confidence should have been very good, but in the ongoing IPL 2022 (IPL 2022), he has failed to live-up to all the hypes.

Speaking on Cricbuzz, Michael Vaughan said that there is an issue with Rohit Sharma, as ever since he got the captaincy of Team India, his performance has been going down instead of going up. He mentioned that it is a matter of concern for him that Rohit will not be able to use his Indian captaincy to build up his confidence so that his game can really go up.

“Rohit Sharma is an issue. Since he got the Indian job has not really done that (demonstrating going upwards), he has done little bit of that (demonstrating going down),” said Michael Vaughan.

Although Mumbai Indians (MI) have lost consecutive matches in IPL many times in the past, but the franchise managed to reach the playoffs somehow, but in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the situation of the team seems to be different.

In IPL 2015 season, Mumbai Indians (MI) lost four matches in a row but still won the trophy. But Michael Vaughan feels that this time it will be difficult for the franchise to return to the ongoing IPL 2022 and reach the playoffs. Because the team has lost its first six matches.

The former England captain continued that they just aren’t thinking right and they are not getting anything right. He said that they are trying their best, giving their all but are probably tinkering with things a little too much. He continued that it is generally know to everyone that Mumbai is always a comeback team, but this time it’s a little too late this year.

Michael Vaughan concluded that he has always loved Mumbai Indians, but believes it’s going to be a tough this year for them, a year where they are trying different.
