For those who are unaware, there a major rumour of rift between Jadeja and Manjrekar following the later’s comment on the Indian all-rounder during the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Manjrekar had called Jadeja a ‘bits and pieces cricketer’.

Meanwhile, Mayanti Langer, the anchor for the Asia Cup 2022 on Star Sports, took an indirect dig at Manjrekar during a live broadcast prior to Afghanistan vs Bangladesh match.

The slow over rate has become a major talking point now as both India and Pakistan failed to complete their overs within time limit and had to take an extra fielder inside the 30-yards circle, which in the end helped Pakistan post a good enough total and also helped India win the match.

Discussing on the same on the panel, former Kiwi cricketer Scott Styris said that almost most of the spin bowlers don’t like to bowl in death including the likes of Rashid Khan and then when another extra fielder forced inside, then it becomes a game of strategy. Styris added that teams should look to use their spin bowlers earlier to avoid the time limit issue.

Manjrekar though, added that the best way to avoid it is to finish your overs quicker. “One very quick suggestion and a very simple tactic. Just bowl your overs quicke,” Manjrekar said.

However, Mayanti Langer interrupted Manjrekar and said that not every bowler is Ravindra Jadeja. “Sanjay, not everyone is Ravindra Jadeja. I had to it. See I just got a ‘gone one’ from Sanjay,” she said.

While she here referred to Jadeja’s ability to bowling quick overs, however, it surely is an indirect dig at him.
