Australia’s great spin bowler Shane Warne, who has trapped many a batsmen more than hundreds of times with the magic of his spin bowling, has predicted that Indian cricket team’s spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin and Australia’s spin bowler Nathan Lyon, both of these bowlers can break past Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan‘s record of taking most wickets in Test cricket and can even surpass that and take up to 1000 wickets.
Ravichandran Ashwin has come out as one of the best spin bowlers of the Indian cricket team, whether it is the limited overs format, or the longest format of the game.
Many a cricket experts have praised the Tamil Nadu cricketer’s ability and skills, and legendary Australian spin bowler Shane Warne has also the same remarks for the off-spin bowler.
Shane Warne joined Hindustan Times for a candid chat where he couldn’t stop himself from praising Ashwin.
Warne said that he hopes both Ashwin and Nathan Lyon takes more wickets and break his and Muralitharan’s record. He also added that he would even like it if both of them could go past 1000 wickets.
While praising Ashwin, Warne added that the Indian off spin bowler is getting better and better and has become a fantastic bowler. He further added that he is a big fan of Ashwin and the way he bowls, the way he tries and develop different deliveries.
Let us inform that Sri Lanka’s legendary spin bowler Muttiah Muralitharan has the record of taking the most wickets in Test cricket, he has taken 800 wickets in 113 Tests in Test cricket.
Meanwhile, Ashwin has played 84 Test matches in his career so far and has taken 430 wickets. He ended the year 2021 as the highest wicket taker in Test cricket with 54 wickets from 9 matches. If we talk about Australia’s spinner bowler Nathan Lyon, then he has 415 wickets in 105 Tests in his Test career so far.
