India’s legendary all-rounder and World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev has lashed out at the Indian cricket team’s senior players for not delivering performance as expected from them.

It is known to everyone that former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is terribly struggling with form. The batsman, who was quite famous for his run scoring ability, scoring a century here and there, has not not scored a single century from 2019.

His bad runs of form continued in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season as well. While as for current captain of the team Rohit Sharma, he also struggled in IPL 2022, with his team Mumbai Indians finishing at the bottom of the points table.

The duo are the current stars of the Indian cricket team, and then being out of form is a big concern for the Indian team.

The 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev stated on Uncut YouTube channel that players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and even KL Rahul have quite a big reputation and maybe pressure too, but he suggested that it should not affect them and they should look to play fearless cricket.

He continued that they all have the ability to play with more that 160 strike rate, but when the time comes for to score runs, all of them are already back at the pavilion.

He added that the approach needs to change, stating that if you are a big player, then you must play impact inning.

“If they are big players, then they need to have a big impact on the team. You are not big just because of the name, but need to be big on performances. If you are a big name, then you should play cricket like that,” stated the man that led India to its first World Cup in 1983.
