“Relief for other teams…” – Irfan Pathan takes a dig at critics with a cheeky post for calling relief for India after Shaheen Afridi got injured

There has been a lot of buzz on social media after Pakistan cricket team’s pace bowler Shaheen Afridi was ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 due to injury that he sustained on Netherlands tour. Irfan Pathan suddenly also finds himself involved in the buzz.

Many people on social media even commented that this is a big relief for the Indian cricket team that Shaheen Afridi has been ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022. Shaheen Afridi does have a good record against the Indian stars like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.

Pakistan and India are the two most favourite teams to win this year’s Asia Cup being hosted by Sri Lanka but being played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to crisis in Sri Lanka, and the hosts will also target to win the Trophy, especially after beating Australia in the ODI series previously.

Meanwhile, while Pakistan will miss the services of their star pacer in Shaheen Afridi, Team India will also miss the services of their bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel.

And after seeing a lots of messages on Twitter, Irfan Pathan couldn’t keep his cool and took a dig at those critics with a post saying that it is a relief for the other teams that Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel won’t be playing for India in the Asia Cup.

Talking about the Asia Cup 2022, both India and Pakistan will face off each other in their opening match of the competition on the 28th of August. But prior to that, both the teams are currently busy playing ODI series against Zimbabwe and Netherlands respectively. The Asia Cup 2022 begins on the 28th of September with the final schedule on 11th September.
