“I am a big fan” – Hong Kong skipper Nizakat Khan names his favourite Indian player before Asia Cup 2022 match against India

Prior to Hong Kong cricket team’s opening match in the Asia Cup 2022 tournament, their captain Nizakat Khan has named his favourite Indian cricketer whom he admires in his career.

The Indian cricket team registered a great victory over their arch-rival Pakistan in their opening match of the 1st round of the Asia Cup 2022. Their 2nd and the last match of the first round will be against Hong Kong that is set to take place on the 31st of August on Wednesday.

But, prior to the match, Hong Kong team’s captain Nizakat Khan has named his favourite Indian cricketer. Speaking to News24 as quoted by News18, the Hong Kong skipper is very optimistic about tomorrow’s match.

He said during the candid chat Indian team’s star batter Virat Kohli is favourite cricketer and he hopes that he returns back to form soon and score lots of runs. “I am a big fan of Virat Kohli, he played well against Pakistan, we really want him to come back in form & score lots of runs,” Nizakat said.

He also recalled the last time that Hong Kong played India in the previous Asia Cup 2018 which Hong Kong lost by just 20 runs. Keep it noted that the Asia Cup 2018 was played in 50 overs format.

Talking about Hong Kong, they reached the main stages of the Asia Cup 2022 after winning the qualifier tournament that was played between August 20 and 24. Meanwhile, Team India recorded a resounding victory against their arch-rival Pakistan in their opening match of the competition, registering a 5 wickets win.

While Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya were the hero with the ball, the latter also played a significant role with the bat and also hitting the winning 6 and was named the Player of the Match.

The India vs Hong Kong Asia Cup 2022 match will be played on the 31st of August in Dubai’s Dubai International Cricket Stadium from 7:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).
