“Mahendra Singh Dhoni is only one” – Former Chennai Super Kings teammate lauds CSK captain MS Dhoni and his fan following in Chennai

After their triumph in the Southern Derby against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on their opponent’s turf, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be playing their upcoming IPL 2023 match in their home ground at Chepauk. This time, they will be facing off against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in yet another Southern Derby.

CSK, with the leadership of their motivating captain MS Dhoni, will be eager to get back to their winning form at home. They had suffered a defeat in their previous league game against the Rajasthan Royals, in a nail-biting last-over encounter that saw a high-scoring match.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) history, SRH has never managed to defeat CSK at Chepauk. The Super Kings will be striving to maintain this record and secure another victory against their opponents.

The stadium is anticipated to be awash with yellow as the Yellow Army faces off against the Orange Army, which is being led by Aiden Markram. MS Dhoni will once again be the center of attention as CSK returns to their home ground.

Harbhajan Singh, a former India cricketer who has previously played for CSK, praised the strong connection between the Chennai Super Kings fans and MS Dhoni. Singh stated that the wicketkeeper-batsman has always received the adoration from the fans with the highest regard and respect.

Harbhajan Singh expressed his thoughts on Star Sports Cricket Live, stating that MS Dhoni is a unique and unparalleled cricketer in India. While others may have scored more runs or taken more wickets, nobody has a larger fan following than Dhoni.

“Mahendra Singh Dhoni is only one. There cannot be a bigger cricketer than him in India. Someone could have scored more runs than him and someone could have taken more wickets than him, but no one has a bigger fanbase than him,” a part of his statement read.

He further went on to say that Dhoni truly values and appreciates his fans and teammates, carrying himself with love and emotion that would be overwhelming for anyone else. Singh highlighted that Dhoni has maintained this attitude throughout his 15-year career and has not changed a bit.
