After three days of play in the one-off Test, Indian team are in driving position in this match.  They currently hold the advantage in the match as the visitors have seven wickets remaining and a 257-run lead in the second innings. For the Indian team, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja each got hundreds, and Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah each took four or three wickets. Virat Kohli is still having a difficult time, despite the Indian team’s excellent overall performance so far.

In the second innings, Kohli appeared to be in fine form, but Ben Stokes’ delivery that was shaping away from him caused him to be out at 20. Kohli was troubled by the delivery’s additional bounce and edged it to the keeper. Graeme Swann defended Kohli, claiming that Indian commentators frequently criticize him harshly. He also said that anyone would have had difficulty playing the delivery because it was impossible to play.

He said, “Regardless, if you are looking to get on the front foot, back foot, that ball is a ripsnorter. From an English point of view, I often find that whenever Indian commentators talk about Virat, I always think wow they are quite harsh on him”. He also said that the standards are very high for a player like Virat Kohli. He further added that it was also a lucky catch in the end.

As the expectations for Virat Kohli’s 71st century goes beyond years and now many fans and cricket experts are starting to question whether it’s all done for him. But as we all know, Virat Kohli will fire when the team needs the most. As the T20 World Cup is fast approaching Indian fans want Virat Kohli to perform well in this series and get some momentum going into the T20 World Cup.
