David Warner posts a heart-touching message after SRH’s loss against DC

Former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner returned to the team’s playing XI for the Orange Army’s IPL 2021 match against the Delhi Capitals at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Unfortunately, the Australian star could not perform as per the expectations. He opened the innings for the team along with wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha.

Warner started the innings by playing two dot balls off Anrich Nortje. The third ball took a leading edge off his willow and landed straight into the hands of Axar Patel. It was David Warner’s first duck in the Indian Premier League since the 2016 edition of the tournament.

Soon after Warner’s dismissal, the other Sunrisers Hyderabad batters also failed to make their mark in the match. None of them could score even 30 runs against the Delhi Capitals bowlers. Rashid Khan’s 19-ball 22 and Abdul Samad’s 21-ball 28 somehow helped them score 134 runs in the first innings.

The Delhi Capitals chased the target in just 17.5 overs, thanks to Shreyas Iyer’s 41-ball 47, Shikhar Dhawan’s 37-ball 42 and captain Rishabh Pant’s 21-ball 35. This win has taken the Delhi Capitals to the number one position in the IPL 2021 Points Table once again, while the Sunrisers Hyderabad remained in the eighth position, with only a couple of points to their name.

David Warner made an Instagram post soon after the defeat against the Delhi Capitals

David Warner, who has been very active on social media in the last couple of years, assured the fans that the Sunrisers Hyderabad team is strong enough to bounce back in the competition. Warner posted a team photo and captioned it as:

“We together with our fans will always stay strong!!”
