During their Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Chennai Super Kings, the captain of the Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson, was fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate. The issue of over rates has once again become a concern in the IPL, with many matches lasting more than four hours.

According to an IPL media advisory, this was the team’s first violation of the season under the Code of Conduct for minimum over-rate violations, and as a result, Captain Sanju Samson was fined Rs 12 lakhs.

On Tuesday, Rajasthan achieved a last-ball victory over CSK, thanks to Sandeep Sharma’s excellent 20th over, which prevented MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja from scoring the required runs.

During the match, while chasing a target of 176, the Chennai Super Kings were limited to 172 for 6 as Sandeep Sharma delivered two perfectly executed blockhole deliveries to keep Mahendra Singh Dhoni (32 off 17 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja (25 off 15 balls) in check.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the most impressive bowler for Rajasthan Royals, taking two wickets for 25 runs. In the first innings, Rajasthan Royals posted a competitive total of 175 for 8 wickets after batting first, with Jos Buttler scoring 52 runs off 36 balls.

During his innings, Jos Buttler hit three sixes and a four while partnering with Devdutt Padikkal (38 off 26 balls) to add 77 runs for the second wicket. Also, Ravichandran Ashwin (30 off 22 balls) and Shimron Hetmyer (30 off 18 balls) made crucial contributions.

For Chennai Super Kings, Ravindra Jadeja was the most successful bowler with figures of 2/21, while Akash Singh and Tushar Deshpande, both rookies, also took two wickets each.
