The Asia’s biggest cricket tournament among the continents best of the best team is back again as the Asia Cup 2022 is just now 1 day left for the commencement of the tournament. The competition kicks-off on the 27th of August with a Group B match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.

The Asia Cup returns after a huge gap after being last played in the year 2018. The tournament is to be played in T20 format among the 6 of the bests Asian teams. 5 direct teams from the ICC Full Members list are joined the winner of the Qualifying tournament, in this case Hong Kong.

As for all the 6 teams, those are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong. Today, in this article, we take a look at the head coaches of all the teams.

India

We are this list with the one of the favorites to win the whole thing is Team India. While team India’s head coach is Rahul Dravid. But, prior to arrival in United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dravid tested positive for the COVID-19. He has been replaced by interim coach and head of National Cricket Academy (NCA) VVS Laxman.

Pakistan

Other than India, their arch-rival and neighbour Pakistan is also favourite to win the whole thing and they both kick-off their campaign playing against each other. As for Pakistan team’s head coach, the team is led by the experienced and former Pakistan cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq.

Sri Lanka

While the tournament is being played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the original host for the tournament is Sri Lanka. They had to shift the tournament out of the country due to all the financial crisis going on. The Lankan Lions are full in confidence after resounding series win over Aussies. They are led the veteran Chris Silverwood as the head coach.

Bangladesh

The Bangladesh cricket team is going a bit of a crisis at the moment, especially after the teams defeat in their series against Zimbabwe. However, going into the Asia Cup 2022, they have confirmed that former Australian team’s Assistant Coach Sridharan Sriram will be leading the team in T20I cricket till the T20 World Cup 2022 to be played in Australia. Thus, he will be leading the Bangladesh team in the tournament.

Afghanistan

Afghanistan cricket team saw a massive rise to the top over the couple of years and they are now considered as among some of the bests of Asia now. The team takes to the Asia Cup with former England international Jonathan Trott as their head coach. He was appointed the head coach of the team in early July this year.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong cricket team became the final part of the puzzle and became the sixth team for the Asia Cup 2022 after winning the qualifier tournament that was played between August 20 and August 24. Hong Kong is being led by former Australian cricketer Trent Johnston. Johnston is an Irishman who played for Australia in over 100 international matches.
