AB de Villiers recently announced retirement from all forms of the game

AB de Villiers recently announced that he would be retiring from all forms of cricket. A few years ago, he had quit international cricket and was majorly focussing on franchise cricket, especially the Indian Premier League.

For the last decade or so, the South African has been a pillar for Royal Challengers Bangalore. With him leaving, RCB will have to scout for candidates who can come close to replacing the legend. Meanwhile, with ABD unavailable, RCB finds itself in a tricky situation before IPL 2022. They will have to take a few wise calls while retaining the players before the next season.

Aakash Chopra’s predicts players RCB might retain before IPL 2022

Speaking on his Youtube Channel, Aakash Chopra said, “Virat Kohli and Yuzi Chahal will be my first two choices. If I have two more in my hand, I will try for Mohammed Siraj and Devdutt Paddikal. These will be my four. I will think about these four for sure. In fact, I can think about Harshal as well – Siraj/Harshal.”

The former Indian opener reasoned out that he does not have Glenn Maxwell on the list because he is not fully confident about the Aussie repeating his IPL 2021 show in future seasons. That said, Glenn Maxwell was one of the best players for the franchise in IPL 2021. However, he had the cushion of ABD in the previous campaign. It is said that November 30th will be the last day for the existing franchises to announce their retentions.
