Gujarat Titans incurred a great comeback against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the match number 29 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 from a position they hadn’t hope for a victory.
After winning the toss, Gujarat Titans opted to bat first. However, they failed to put a big target on the board. It is only for captain Hardik Pandya’s inning that they reached 135 runs.
Chasing the target, Lucknow got off to a flying start, scoring nearly 50 runs in the powerplay itself without losing any wicket.
But, after Kyle Mayers got out, Lucknow batters started to play slowly, especially KL Rahul who did brilliantly in the powerplay. Things were still looking good for Lucknow to win the match, but then, captain KL Rahul departed in the last over, after that 3 further wickets fell.
12 runs were required off the last over. Captain Hardik handed the ball to Mohit Sharma, who gave away only 4 runs and took 4 wickets of KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, Ayush Badoni and Deepak Hooda with the latter two being run outs.
