T20 cricket leagues are now becoming centre of discussion around the world as new T20 leagues are emerging almost every year. And the revolution started back in the year 2008 when the BCCI launched the Indian Premier League (IPL).

You won’t believe that South African cricket team’s ODI and T20I captain Temba Bavuma is not even part of his country’s own T20 league, the SA20 Legaue. It’s neither because he plays in other league. Bavuma doesn’t play in any T20 league as probably teams believe he is not fit for a T20 team.
Another South African cricket team’s captain, specifically the South African cricket team’s Test captain Dean Elgar is another player who doesn’t play in their country’s T20 league, the SA20 League. Australian cricket team’s pace bowler and captain Pat Cummins has developed to be a huge name in the world of cricket. Cummins is regarded as one of the best bowler of the current generation and his skills are a proof of that.
Cummins though, doesn’t play in Australia’s T20 league, the Big Bash League, but has been a ever present name in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He last featured for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2022. However, he decided to stay away from league cricket this year due to heavy workload as Australia’s captain.
