Playing for your country is a massive achievement for any player and that is the upmost dream for any player in the world. However, just playing is not enough for a player, he must consistently perform well to keep his place in the Indian team.
Talking about the Indian cricket team, some of the superstars doesn’t find a place in the Indian team because of the competition there is within the squad. Star Indian batter Shreyas Iyer doesn’t find a place in the Indian team because of the squad depth.
Over the last couple of years, Indian team have tested out a couple of players but they now find it really difficult to make it back to the Indian team again. The number of players have gone to so much that some of their return back to the Indian team seems impossible now. Today in this article, we take a look at 4 players who might find it really difficult to make it back to the Indian team again.
The first player in the list who is already out of the running for a spot back in the Indian team is all-rounder Shivam Dube. The all-rounder made his debut back in the year 2019 with a high expectation, but he did not come close to that and was dropped from the team just after 13 T20Is and 1 ODI match.
The next name in the list is left-handed middle-order batsman Nitish Rana. The Delhi batsman has been consistently doing well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). As a result of his performance, he was called-up to the Indian team for the Sri Lanka series in 2021. He has so far played 1 ODI and 2 T20Is and has done a massive contribution so far. And with players like Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Hooda fighting in the middle, Rana’s opportunities seems really impossible now.
Another left-hand batsman Team India tried out during their transition period is Faiz Fazal. Fazal made his International debut for Team India in the year 2016 against Zimbabwe and scored a brilliant 55 runs in that match. However, till date, that has remained the only match for Faiz as he never played for the Indian team again.
The 4th player in our list today is leg-spin bowler and current Indian cricket team’s pacer Deepak Chahar’s brother Rahul Chahar. Rahul was touted as the future replacement for Yuzvendra Chahal, however, with the rise of Ravi Bishnoi, Rahul’s return seems pretty much impossible now.
