Joe Root is probably the biggest name in modern-day cricket and is among the greatest batters that England has ever produced. The former captain has skipped the ongoing county tournament in England and is part of the Rajasthan Royals in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.
The English superstar looks like he’s enjoying his time in India with the inaugural IPL winner. Root has also been part of a number of fun videos posted by the franchise on social media, which indicates that he is enjoying his time.
One of his videos, in which he showed his dance moves with Yuzvendra Chahal, also became the center of attention. However, the franchise has shared yet another video on its various social media platforms, featuring Root, Devdutt Padikkal, and Dhruv Jurel. In the video, they hilariously answer some very interesting questions.
At the end of the video, the host also asked all three to pick a captain between MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, under whom they want to play. Both Jurel and Padikkal went towards Dhoni’s side, while Root, after taking a pause, also walked towards Dhoni’s side in a funny manner.
The former English captain is currently part of the team, which is led by Sanju Samson. Though he hasn’t made his IPL debut yet, it is expected to be very soon. Meanwhile, some reports confirmed that it might be the last season of CSK skipper MS Dhoni, so Root might not get a chance to play under him.
Notably, if RR qualifies for the playoffs, the former English test captain might not be available for the selection as he will fly back to the UK to join the English test side, where they will host Ireland for a four-day test between June 1 and 4. He, along with Ben Stokes, will not be part of the playoffs.
